Hollywood filmed this well-known sci-fi movie in 1968 based on the famous novel of the same name by French writer Pierre Boulle. At the time, the film was widely popular for its uniquely conceived plot, sophisticated makeup techniques, and an unexpected and shocking ending, which also led to the creation of four sequels and two television series.
