In the mid-22nd century, Earth has not become a better place through the advancements of civilization and technology; instead, it has turned into a hopeless wasteland plagued by various forms of greed. A small number of extremely wealthy individuals have abandoned their home planet and created a paradise-like haven in a space station floating above Earth, where they continue to live lives of luxury and pleasure. Meanwhile, the vast majority of the poor are forced to remain on a battered Earth, struggling to survive amidst chaos and despair, while enduring the oppression of ridiculous and harsh federal regulations. They toil to earn a meager living under the industrial system established by the rich, occasionally looking up to the sky, dreaming of migrating to the space station to start anew.
