This film is the debut work of Soviet film theorist and director Sergei Eisenstein, showcasing the beginning and end of a strike movement in six chapters. In a busy factory, workers are engrossed in their jobs. The Bolshevik Party is actively organizing workers' strikes underground, but on the surface, everything appears calm... A tool is stolen from the factory, and the on-duty worker is insulted during an investigation by the owner. Unable to contain their anger, the worker returns to the shop and commits suicide by hanging. A conflict erupts between the workers and the factory owner, as workers burst out of the factory, overthrow the foreman, and contact comrades from other factories, initiating a large-scale strike. Negotiations between the factory owners and workers reach a deadlock, and the workers, deprived of their livelihoods, suffer from hunger. The factory owners hire detectives to capture labor leaders and employ thugs to disrupt workers' organizations. The workers flee in all directions under the onslaught of water cannons and mounted police, ultimately facing a bloody massacre...
