After the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the formidable Lupin (He Lin) returns to the bustling streets of Shanghai. At the birthday party of socialite Li Yanan (Zhou Jiu), private detective Guo Jing (Wang Zhihua) reminds the assembled high-society ladies that Lupin has returned to Shanghai. Before he finishes speaking, the lights go out suddenly; when they come back on, the guests’ wallets and jewelry placed on the silver trays have mysteriously disappeared. Japanese spy Zhuang Chengyi (Dong Lin) is threatened by high-ranking official Chen Miaogen (Lin Jifan), "The Blue Rattlesnake" orders Bai Xianhua (Hu Dagang) to eliminate the unreliable Zhuang Chengyi, but Bai, greedy for the vast wealth hidden by Zhuang, temporarily refrains from action. Lupin impersonates Guo Jing and steals precious diamonds from Zhuang’s possession, causing Guo Jing to lose face and vow to capture Lupin alive. Chen Miaogen, driven by insatiable greed, resorts to unscrupulous means to seize assets belonging to traitors, fraudulently using Lupin's name to rake in money, and ultimately meets a tragic end. After confirming that Lupin is responsible for Chen Miaogen's death, the police launch a manhunt for Lupin......
