After the leader of the Yang Theatre in Shanghai, China, is shot by someone while wearing a mask he made himself, his son Yang Xiaolong becomes a suspect due to a lack of alibi. Believing firmly that her brother is innocent, Yang Xiaolong's sister Yang Leili (Mami Mizukawa) writes to Japan, requesting Miyuki Nanase (Rie Tomosaka) and the famous detective Kindaichi (Tsuyoshi Domoto) to take over the case.
