Over fifty years old, Don Johnston (played by Bill Murray) has had countless romantic relationships and affairs throughout his life, but he has never intended to settle down, preferring to enjoy the passion of love, allowing exceptional women to come and go in his life while embarking on a different journey. One day, Don receives a letter from an ex-girlfriend, stating that his son, who has inherited his bloodline, has run away from home and is on a quest to find his father. With countless feelings that are hard to express, Don also embarks on a journey of reflection. He visits Laura (played by Sharon Stone), Dora (played by Frances Conroy), Carmen (played by Jessica Lange), and Penny (played by Tilda Swinton). People have many facets, like flowers in myriad forms; reflecting on his past, it becomes clear that what has withered is not just youth lost to time. Is this a quest for truth or a tribute to emotions and memory… This film won the Jury Prize at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.
