Jinmo (played by Anne Hathaway), who is undergoing rehabilitation treatment at a center, is brought home by her father Paul (played by Bill Irwin) because her sister Rachel (played by Rosemarie DeWitt) is about to get married. However, she still has to attend regular meetings for addicts. Coincidentally, she discovers that her brother-in-law's best man Kieran (played by Mather Zickel) is also a member of the support group, and the two feel a strong connection in their shared plight. During their conversation, Jinmo learns that she is not the bridesmaid, which makes her furious. After some negotiation, Rachel eventually agrees to let Jinmo be the bridesmaid. However, this compromise does not mend the sisters' relationship. Jinmo's ill-timed "apology plan" causes conflicts within the family, with only her father consistently supporting her. During an argument, Rachel brings up the death of their brother in a car accident years ago, which intensifies Jinmo's feelings of guilt and leads to a physical confrontation with their mother Abby (played by Debra Winger)...
