The fourth installment of Level-5's popular title "Yo-kai Watch" in a theatrical anime format. Set 30 years in the future, a new world with revamped characters is depicted. Once, there was a boy with a mysterious "bracelet" that could control yo-kai. However, the boy grew up to be an adult and lost the ability to see yo-kai. The "bracelet," having fulfilled its purpose, was buried deep in the fabric of time and space. Now, 30 years after Keta's era, a comet approaches the peaceful daily life, as the yo-kai virus "Oni Maru" infects human malice. This virus continues to multiply infinitely. A chosen one from the new Yo-kai Watch must save humanity from this extinction crisis and re-establish the bond between humans and yo-kai. In this work, the yo-kai, including Jibanyan, have two modes: "Light Side" and "Shadow Side," and characters from "Gegege no Kitaro," including Kitaro himself, also make an appearance.
