The film is about two young individuals with dreams of making it in the movies, and it's a story about Bollywood. Sona (played by Konkona Sen Sharma) arrives in Mumbai with dreams of becoming a movie star. Vikram (Farhan Akhtar) has left the comfort of his parents' home in Delhi to move to this city.
