Bruno (played by Sacha Baron Cohen) is the host of a German-language fashion show from Austria. He dresses in bizarre, avant-garde styles and indulges in outrageous homosexual games in his personal life; on screen, he is even more eccentric, either provoking guests to make controversial statements or simply wreaking havoc on the runway. Ultimately, his dreams of fame are dashed, and he is expelled from the Milan fashion scene. Overnight, Bruno's career hits rock bottom, and even his long-term gay partner abandons him, leaving only his loyal second assistant, Lutz (played by Gustaf Hammarsten), to accompany him as he ventures into Hollywood. In Los Angeles, Bruno does not change his flamboyant nature, shocking guests with graphic displays of nudity, provocatively undermining politicians, and even recording his male genitalia for an NBC pilot. One can only imagine how the guests and TV executives must have reacted. Time and again, facing failure and setbacks, the undeterred Bruno marches forward, determined to make a name for himself in the entertainment world...
