The male protagonist Joe Sayfer (Tim Allen) is an average middle-aged man who dreams of becoming a "big guy" like all the failed little people. He has been working at a pharmaceutical company in Minnesota, lamenting his unrecognized talent and lack of appreciation. Joe's boss had promised him a promotion opportunity but ultimately went back on his word. Furthermore, his personal life is in shambles, as he ends up divorcing his wife Kelly (Kelly Lynch). What used to be a mediocre job and a muddled life remained as calm as a stagnant pool. Until his colleague Mark (Patrick Warburton) occupies his beloved reserved parking space and humiliates Joe in front of his overly mature daughter, Joe’s anger is finally ignited. Unable to tolerate it any longer, Joe is determined to turn his life around and confront Mark in a battle to the finish. Will Joe be able to prove to everyone that he is now a "big guy"? And is such a change good or bad?
