The male protagonist Joe Sayfer (Tim Allen) is an average middle-aged man who dreams of becoming a "big guy" like all the failed little people. He has been working at a pharmaceutical company in Minnesota, lamenting his unrecognized talent and lack of appreciation. Joe's boss had promised him a promotion opportunity but ultimately went back on his word. Furthermore, his personal life is in shambles, as he ends up divorcing his wife Kelly (Kelly Lynch). What used to be a mediocre job and a muddled life remained as calm as a stagnant pool. Until his colleague Mark (Patrick Warburton) occupies his beloved reserved parking space and humiliates Joe in front of his overly mature daughter, Joe’s anger is finally ignited.
