This film tells the story of young American soldiers fighting in the Iraq conflict, focusing on modern warfare under multimedia coverage. Due to the impulsive nature and limitations of youth, "Excerpt Revision" shows us the dire consequences of placing a group of young American soldiers in an ambitious mental state. Director De Palma, after gathering and organizing a wealth of experiences from American soldiers in the Iraq conflict, bravely shifts the lens to the still-resounding Iraq War. The plot revolves around a small squad of the U.S. Army. Using their dominant position, they persecute an innocent Iraqi girl and her family, culminating in a brutal rape and murder. The film sharply reveals the innocent deaths caused by war and the helplessness of Iraqis in the face of conflict. It prompts the audience to think and begin to question any information and events received. For the truth is often distorted after being filtered through the high-efficiency screens of media and politics, becoming a tool for a small group of people. Ultimately, the film leaves a question for everyone to ponder: once we know the truth, what is the meaning of war? To whom will all the tragedies be told?
