The Jack Irish series is based on the novels of Australian bestselling author Peter Temple. So, a voicemail from Danny McKillop (Simon Russell), a former client, fails to catch Peter's attention. However, after Danny's death, Jack must confront his dark past. Dark undertow: Jack helps an old friend, Des Connors (Ron Jacobson), who has lost his son, Gary (Nicholas Coghlan). As Jack begins to dig deeper into the matter, he discovers that Gary Connors was a person with hidden truths, and his friends and those around him harbor even darker and deadlier secrets.
