Martin (played by Robert Redford) is a computer genius who was wanted by the police 20 years ago for embezzling funds through online loopholes. Now, he has turned over a new leaf and, along with four friends, has founded a computer company. One day, agents from the National Security Agency approach Martin, hoping he can participate in an operation to steal a decoder known as the "black box," invented by programming expert Gordon (played by Timothy Busfield). Legend has it that no code can escape the fate of being cracked by the black box. Under pressure from the NSA, Martin and his team reluctantly accept the task and successfully acquire the decoder, only to learn the next day that Gordon has been murdered.
