Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) is a professional criminal who has been in the game for many years. He is efficient and ruthless, leaving no loose ends. His successful robbery of a armored truck has drawn "special attention" from the police. An unexpected encounter leads Neil to meet graphic designer Eady, and they fall in love at first sight.
