This film is a sequel to "Bad Boys," and the story takes place in Miami. The drug trade in Miami has suddenly become rampant overnight, with continuous clashes between various drug trafficking organizations. To investigate the deep-seated conflicts within these groups, Miami's police department once again calls upon their "golden" duo, the suave Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and the neurotic Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). Soon, the two figure out the situation: an outside drug trafficking force is invading Miami's drug market, led by an ambitious drug lord who intends to control the drug trade across the entire United States and even Europe, establishing a drug empire. During the police's crackdown on the drug organization, a DEA undercover agent, Sydney (Gabrielle Union), is taken hostage by the traffickers, and the condition they offer is that Mike and Marcus must engage in illegal activities. This complicates things, as the beautiful Sydney is not only Marcus's younger sister but also Mike's lover.
