There has always been a dark underground world on Earth. There, two great races—the vampires and the werewolves—are locked in a deadly fight, each side aiming to eradicate the other. Once, the vampire clan's "Moon Goddess" Selene (played by Kate Beckinsale) discovers while hunting a few defeated werewolves that they are plotting to kidnap a human doctor, Michael (played by Scott Speedman). Realizing the werewolves must have an ulterior motive, Selene ventures alone into the werewolf lair to investigate. Unfortunately, she falls into a werewolf ambush and is seriously injured, but is saved by Michael. During the journey back to the vampire camp, Michael is unexpectedly bitten by a werewolf, revealing Michael's mysterious origin and the werewolves' conspiracy…
