This film is adapted from the comic of the same name by Huang Yulang. Wang Xianglong (Yuanhua) and his brother Wang Fuhu, who come from a martial arts family, establish the Dragon Gate to teach martial arts and uphold justice for the grassroots. Wang Xiaolong (Donnie Yen) and Wang Xiaohu (Nicholas Tse) are half-brothers under Wang Fuhu. Xiaolong was taken away by his mother from the Dragon Gate in his childhood, leaving behind a dragon-shaped jade pendant paired with Xiaohu's tiger-shaped pendant. Xiaolong's fate is turbulent; after his mother's death, he is taken in by the gang member Ma Kun (Chen Kuan-tai). Xiaolong rescues the Rakshasa woman (Li Xiaoran), who later becomes the love of his life, from becoming a minion of the Fire Cloud Evil God. Time flies, and the young Wang Xiaohu accidentally gets involved in the conflict between Ma Kun and the White Lion Gang with his fellow disciples, and he gains the Rakshasa Order, which the Fire Cloud Evil God gave to Ma Kun. Wang Xiaolong retrieves the Rakshasa Order for Ma Kun but fights due to the despicable actions of Ma Kun's subordinates. In the scuffle, Wang Xiaohu is assisted by the martial arts enthusiast Shi Heilong (Shawn Yue). Wang Xiaohu meets Ma Kun's daughter, Ma Xiaoling (Dong Jie); Shi Heilong also manages to join Wang Xianglong's school. Meanwhile, Ma Kun wants to retire from the martial world but angers the Fire Cloud Evil God. Wang Xiaolong fights desperately but only saves Xiaoling. The Fire Cloud Evil God, misled by the Rakshasa woman's delaying tactics, invades the Dragon Gate alone; Wang Xiaohu and Shi Heilong are severely injured, and Xiaoling leads them to seek help in Baiyun Mountain. The three kings of the Dragon Gate focus on their training, preparing for the final battle against the Fire Cloud Evil God...
