Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) is a typical playboy, best known for making beautiful women fall in love with him under different identities, and then quickly escaping from the relationship afterward. As a veterinarian at a Hawaiian aquarium, Henry has endless romantic charm to captivate the leisure-seeking beauties, and this time he has his eye on Lucy (Drew Barrymore), who is dining alone at a restaurant. They have deep conversations, build little houses out of bagels, and share continuous laughter. Henry becomes infatuated with the girl and arranges to have dinner with her again the next morning. However, the next morning, when Henry enthusiastically greets Lucy, she responds coldly, as if she were a stranger. It turns out that the girl suffers from a strange form of short-term amnesia due to an accident, with her memory forever stuck on the day before the incident. The love guru Henry faces his own dilemma; he falls in love with a girl who continuously forgets their romance...
