During the battle against the Skrulls, Kree Starforce member Vers (Brie Larson) unfortunately becomes a prisoner of the enemy. The Skrulls attempt to probe into Vers's memories and ultimately uncover a past that even she is unaware of, leading them to discover that a woman named Dr. Wendy Lawson holds the time-space engine they desperately seek. Taking advantage of the Skrulls' unpreparedness, the powerful Vers breaks free from her restraints and escapes to Earth, codenamed C-53, which is also the location of her lost memories. Shortly after, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) comes to her aid, and the subsequent arrival of the Skrulls incites unprecedented chaos among Earth's inhabitants.
