Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) witnessed his parents being gunned down by criminals on the streets of Gotham City during his childhood, filling Wayne with rage. After inheriting his father's billion-dollar estate, Wayne begins to travel the world, hoping to take revenge and fight crime with his own strength! To understand the psychology of criminals, Wayne personally experienced crime in Asia and was ultimately arrested and imprisoned. While in prison, he met the skilled fighter Ducard, who taught Wayne powerful martial arts and resilience. Wayne soon attracted the attention of the mysterious League of Shadows, whose master had always wanted to invite him to join. Wayne soon discovers the League of Shadows has ulterior motives for his hometown of Gotham City, and he resolutely returns home. Wayne discovers a basement in his mansion, from which he gains a new identity—Batman. Batman begins to fight against the darkness that shrouds Gotham City.
