Frans (played by Riccardo Scamarcio) is a respected deputy sheriff who is set to naturally ascend to the sheriff's position in a few years. One night, due to some old traumas, Frans decides to meet his old friend—Judge Gio (played by Alessio Boni). The meeting is not pleasant. The next day, shocking news arrives: Gio's body has been found with a gunshot wound to the head. In Gio's room, only Frans’s fingerprints are found, and furthermore, he is believed to be the last person who saw Gio alive. All clues point to Frans, accusing him of being the ruthless murderer, but only Frans knows he is innocent.
