Edna (Robyn Nevin) has been living alone despite her old age. One day, her daughter Kay (Emily Mortimer) and granddaughter Sam (Bella Heathcote) receive a call from the police, notifying them that Edna is missing. Shocked, the two hurriedly rush back to the family home. Shortly after the search begins, Edna suddenly reappears. She doesn't mention anything about her disappearance during those days, and everyone can only explain it by saying she has developed Alzheimer's disease. Edna's return brings relief to everyone, but little do they know that the tragedy is just beginning. After returning home, Edna's demeanor changes dramatically, as if she has become a different person, and sometimes her actions even frighten Kay and Sam.
