"The White Rose in Action" tells the story of Sophie and several other university students from the University of Munich during World War II, who established a resistance organization called "The White Rose" to overthrow fascist rule and end the war. They printed and distributed leaflets, calling on the German people to rise against the Nazis, and engaged in various acts of sabotage. Gradually, the influence of this "White Rose" group expanded, gaining support from many students; however, the Gestapo would not allow this "White Rose" to continue blooming.
