The story follows the clever and resourceful Amon, who is the disciple of the unparalleled stick master, Hong Ying. One day, Hong Ying is captured by his junior, Black Hawk, and Amon is determined to rescue his master. Along the way, he encounters Zhu Toubing; although Zhu Toubing is greedy, he possesses a deep sense of humanity and has martial skills. Amon, appealing to Zhu Toubing's self-interest, persuades him to join in rescuing Hong Ying. However, Amon and Zhu Toubing do not share the same intentions, leading to frequent deceit and a series of humorous mishaps.
