In the spring of 1941, in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan, 17-year-old Toshiaki Sakiyama (played by Shunsuke Tsubozuka) starts a new school term living with his aunt Keiko Emba (played by Takako Tokiwa). In his carefree teenage years, he enjoys happy days with his friends. Among them are the handsome boy Aisai (played by Shin'ya Mitsushima), who has a physique reminiscent of Greek gods, the reclusive Kira (played by Keishi Nagatsuka), and the funny and boisterous Asu (played by Time Tsubaki), his best friends. Toshiaki has a cousin, Mina (played by Honoka Yahagi), who is the daughter of his aunt Keiko. Mina suffers from a lung disease and has a frail, pale face that makes her all the more captivating, which deeply attracts Toshiaki, who is in his adolescence. At the same time, he is surrounded by beautiful girls like Ayin (played by Hona Yamazaki) and Chitose (played by Maku Kado). The boys and girls laugh and play, recklessly running along the borders of youth. However, when the bells of war ring, their pure, white-paper-like youth shatters into pieces, scattering in the air.&*&vod_class: Drama
