Tianan is deeply infatuated with Caiwei and pursues her despite their age difference. Caiwei feels attracted to him as well, and after much hesitation, she eventually agrees to be with Tianan; the two quickly discuss marriage. However, Caiwei harbors memories of a failed romance from her past when she was a vibrant university student, who inadvertently fell in love with married professor Zhang Yingquan (played by Lin Zixiang). She faced heavy criticism and was confronted by Yingquan's pregnant wife. Unable to withstand the pressure, Yingquan chose to escape and lost his teaching position, leaving Caiwei heartbroken and disillusioned about love. Now, as Tianan rekindles her hope for love and Caiwei faces pressure from her supervisor to resign, she eagerly awaits their marriage. Unexpectedly, she runs into a down-and-out Yingquan and discovers Tianan's true identity, pushing Caiwei to the brink of collapse…
