Detailed introduction

This film (drama)Also known as東京暮色,is aJapanProducerwomen sex,At1957Released in year 。The dialogue language isJapanese,Current Douban rating8.3(For reference only)。
This is the most desperate film from Ozu since "The Wife of That Night." Among his post-war works, this is the only one set in the harsh winter and the only one that delves into the missing member of a fractured family. The married eldest daughter cannot get along with her husband and returns to her father's home in search of refuge; the unmarried second daughter suddenly becomes pregnant and waits night after night at a nightclub for the appearance of her faithless lover. The mother, who eloped with a subordinate of her father for many years, suddenly intrudes into her daughters' lives, but after the second daughter aborts the child, she can no longer bear the cruel reality. Dramatic stories are rare in Ozu's later works, but the understated handling creates numerous classic scenes. The moment when the mother repeatedly looks back at her daughter while saying goodbye on the train from Tokyo almost foreshadows the old woman's impending sadness. Facing life with equanimity is the direction that Ozu's later works take.
