Young Kaneko Teppei (played by Ryota Kawase) takes the subway during rush hour to an interview at a company introduced by a senior. Unexpectedly, when he gets off at Aikawa Station, a female middle school student grabs him and accuses him of being a “pervert,” leading to Teppei's arrest. Under the strict questioning of the police, Teppei insists he has committed no crime. However, his lawyer informs Teppei that if he denies the crime, he will face detention, and if prosecuted, the consequences will be even more serious. This sudden misfortune leaves Teppei bewildered, while his mother Toyoko (played by Masako Sanada) and friend Saito Tatsu (played by Koji Yamamoto) frantically seek help to clear Teppei’s name. A senior lawyer and former judge, Masayoshi Arakawa (played by Hiroshi Yakusho), and a young female lawyer, Riko Sudō (played by Asaka Seto), extend their hands to them, leading to a courtroom debate that will determine Teppei's fate.
