Naomi Watts joins Showtime's new series focusing on former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, portraying former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson. Russell Crowe will play Ailes. The series is based on Gabriel Sherman's biography of Ailes, "The Loudest Voice in the Room," detailing the last ten years of Ailes' life before his death in May 2017, including the sexual harassment allegations made against him by Carlson and other women at Fox News, which ultimately led to Ailes' resignation from Fox News in 2016. Tom McCarthy ([Spotlight]) will co-write the pilot episode with Sherman.
