Director Barry Jenkins has recently finalized his new film, adapting the renowned author James Baldwin's novel "If Beale Street Could Talk" for the big screen. The story is set in Harlem, New York, in the 1970s, focusing on a young engaged couple, Fonny and Tish. Fonny is falsely accused of rape, and pregnant Tish must hustle to find evidence to prove her husband's innocence. Annapurna, founded by Megan Ellison, will invest in the film and will co-produce it alongside Plan B, the production company behind "Moonlight," and Jenkins' own Pastel studio, with filming set to begin in October.
