Joseph Steedman (played by Ron Eldard) is a middle-aged man whose family life is in turmoil and whose relationship with his daughter is strained. One day, he is kidnapped by a mad scientist and forced to become a test subject, only to discover that the experimental results grant him an unexpectedly devastating superpower.
