"Big Trouble" is the latest work by director Barry Sonnenfeld, known for directing "Get Shorty" and "Men in Black." This comedy features a great cast, including Tim Allen, Rene Russo, Stanley Tucci, Tom Sizemore, Johnny Knoxville, Jason Lee, and Dwight "Heavy D" Myers. The film is adapted from the best-selling novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist Dave Barry, which tells the story of how a mysterious briefcase connects a divorced father, a depressed housewife, two hitmen, a pair of street punks, two lovestruck teenagers, two FBI agents, and a hallucinogenic toad, changing their lives forever.
Tim Allen plays Eliot Arnold, a former journalist and divorced father. His son Matt (played by Ben Foster) is having a water gun fight with his neighbor Jenny (played by Zooey Deschanel). Meanwhile, chaos ensues as two bumbling hitmen, Snake (played by Tom Sizemore) and Eddie (played by Johnny Knoxville), appear, intending to assassinate Jenny's notorious stepfather Arthur Herk (played by Stanley Tucci) for stealing money from their boss. However, these so-called "hitmen" end up stealing a briefcase containing nuclear weapons from an arms dealer instead.
When Eliot Arnold and Officer Monica (played by Janeane Garofalo) set out to track down Snake and Eddie, they encounter a variety of local residents in Miami, including a giant hallucinogenic toad, a python named Daphne, a goat blocking their path, and the familiar entertainment park "Denture Adventure."
