During the Civil War, Xu Shiyou was ordered to lead 40,000 young soldiers to hold the Jiaodong Peninsula. One night, the Kuomintang launched a surprise attack on a rear hospital, and local residents Qin Dama and her daughter Lanmei risked their lives to deliver a message to Xu Shiyou. Unfortunately, they were captured by Kuomintang troops along the way, who attempted to use Qin Dama and Lanmei to force Xu Shiyou to surrender. In a moment of desperation, to avoid implicating her unit, Qin Dama resolutely chose to end her own life, while Lanmei, who had been insulted by the traitors, managed to escape.
Xu Shiyou and his wife Tian Pu took Lanmei in, but consumed by revenge, Lanmei impulsively rushed to the battlefield several times, nearly losing her life. To help her acquire more revolutionary knowledge, the Xu couple sent her to a rear hospital.
At the rear hospital, Lanmei accidentally learned that medicinal alcohol mixed with water could be consumed as liquor, and thinking of how Xu Shiyou liked to drink while studying the battle situation but refrained due to shortages, she couldn't help but secretly hide two bottles of medicinal alcohol.
As the fighting approached the rear hospital, Lanmei disregarded the fierce gunfire and ran towards the hillside where Xu Shiyou was, clutching the two bottles of alcohol. A bomb exploded at her feet, and faced with the sacrifice of Lanmei and the two blood-stained bottles of alcohol, Xu Shiyou was left speechless with grief.
As the battle intensified, Xu Shiyou, who had honed his skills in Shaolin Temple since childhood, educated his troops with his unique "Fist Method" and applied it in real combat, causing the elite forces of the Kuomintang to retreat in defeat. After a fierce struggle, the 40,000 Jiaodong soldiers ultimately achieved victory against 200,000 Kuomintang troops, fulfilling Chairman Mao's mission to defend Jiaodong.
