Young Arabella (played by Tinì Cansino) and Francesco (played by Francesco Casale) are involved in a car accident on their wedding day. Arabella is mostly unharmed, while Francesco injures his leg and is now in a wheelchair. After the accident, Francesco, as a writer, not only loses his creative inspiration but also cannot engage in a normal sex life with his wife.
