Donald (played by Colin Firth) is an unsuccessful small entrepreneur whose new navigation device fails to gain market recognition due to its limited audience, leaving him ashamed to face his family. The Global Sailing Challenge organized by The Times catches Donald's attention, and he decides to take a leap of faith and enter the competition to reclaim his lost dignity. The competition is extremely tough; Donald must complete the long journey alone without docking. After the initial excitement fades, he gradually becomes engulfed by fear of the unknown. However, the small town he lives in and the surrounding neighbors have come to see him as a sailing hero and hold high hopes for him, making it hard for Donald to back down. The very accidents that he feared begin to occur one after another.
