Although Earl (Martin Lawrence) is strong and powerful, his irritable personality and simple mind take him further away from his goal of being a good police officer. After another disaster, he becomes a low-level security guard. During a traffic stop, Earl encounters Officer Hank (Steve Zahn), and the two, with vastly different temperaments, get into a brawl over a minor issue, which causes Hank to lose his job and also become a security guard. Earl never anticipated that his actions would lead to Hank becoming his colleague, and they not only work in the same building but are also assigned as partners, leading to a life filled with arguments. In an unexpected turn of events, Earl and Hank discover a massive smuggling ring linked to high-ranking police officials. Driven by their sense of kindness and justice, they decide to pursue the truth despite pressure from their superiors, all while being constantly threatened and in danger.
