Taiji, Wakayama Prefecture in Japan, is a picturesque small fishing village, but it annually stages a brutal scene. Every year, tens of thousands of dolphins pass through these waters, yet their journey abruptly ends in Taiji. Fishermen drive the dolphins to a spot close to shore, where trainers from around the world select suitable candidates, while the remaining large groups of dolphins are mercilessly slaughtered for no reason. These mass killings and crimes are concealed by the government and relevant organizations for various interests. Richard O'Barry, who was once a dolphin trainer and involved in the popular filming of "The Cove," was deeply shocked by the death of a dolphin. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the rescue of dolphins. Despite numerous obstacles from the local government and villagers, he and his film crew found ways to infiltrate the dolphin slaughtering grounds in Taiji, aiming to expose the crimes and save our lovable friends... This film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 82nd Oscars in 2010.
