Nick (played by Chevy Chase) is an ordinary geological analyst who works diligently and seriously every day, with no extravagant thoughts about life. One day, still hungover, he drags his exhausted body to a seminar, only to fall asleep in the restroom due to his fatigue. Unfortunately, the magnetic cyclotron at the seminar malfunctions, and to ensure the safety of the attendees, the organizers decide to evacuate, completely forgetting about Nick, who is still asleep in the restroom.
