In 1974, Yorkshire, England, is constantly shrouded in a thick mist, with the air filled with sorrow and ominous feelings. A series of child abduction cases has further intensified the oppressive atmosphere in York. Young and ambitious journalist Eddie Dunford (played by Andrew Garfield) is highly concerned and actively investigates, even neglecting his gravely ill father. However, as the investigation deepens, he realizes that these are not simple abduction cases; dark secrets within the political sphere begin to emerge, surrounding Eddie with layers of danger. The thick black fog is hard to disperse…This film is adapted from David Peace's four suspense novels (titled by year: 1974, 1977, 1980, 1983, collectively known as the Red Riding Quartet) and was filmed as a trilogy by Channel 4 in the UK, known as the "Red Riding Trilogy."
