For Stephanie (played by Katherine Heigl), life has been tough lately. Her unemployment has left her financially strapped, and her only car, a convertible, was recently taken away by a collection agency to settle her debts. Faced with harsh realities, Stephanie has to hit the streets in search of a job. With the help of her cousin Vinnie (played by Patrick Fischler), Stephanie becomes a bail bondsman, a challenging profession requiring rigorous training. Soon, Stephanie's first assignment comes along—her client is a police officer named Joe (played by Jason O'Mara), who is entangled in a murder case. To make matters worse, this Joe is none other than Stephanie's ex-boyfriend. With the old flame so close and the constant drama unfolding around her, Stephanie must confront not only the challenging situations but also how to handle their lingering feelings, which becomes her top priority.
