Hao Dong (played by Huang Xuan) talks about his painful experience with insomnia while listening to a midnight radio show. His girlfriend—radio DJ Yi Fan (played by Kelly Cheung) begins to provide him with psychological counseling. However, Hao Dong reveals to her his nightmares: a long-haired woman in white (played by Zhou Chuchu) falling from a high building, which makes it difficult for him to sleep. Even more frightening are his fragmented childhood memories of Jiuli Village, which send chills down his spine. Back then, during the early years of the founding of the country, a couple arrived at Jiuli Village to support agricultural production. The husband, named Jianguo, was an expert in hybrid rice, and his wife was named Luo Xiaoyue.
