Young Chief Justice Seok-hyun (played by Chi Jin-hee) is not only successful in his career but also has a beautiful wife and a lovely daughter. However, everything changes after he receives a mysterious call during his promotion celebration party. First, his wife is inexplicably murdered, and then he meets a female reporter who tells him about the “Parallel Theory” and warns him that his life will parallel that of Judge Han Sang-joon, whose family was destroyed 30 years ago, foreshadowing misfortune for him and his daughter soon. The investigation into the murder of Seok-hyun's wife is led by his college classmate, Kang Sung (played by Lee Jong-hyuk). After an investigation, they set their sights on a suspect named Jang Soo-young (played by Ha Jung-woo) and quickly apprehend him. Jang Soo-young confesses to the crime, but Seok-hyun believes that Jang Soo-young is not the one who killed his wife based on certain details. As a female reporter is murdered and Jang Soo-young escapes from the police station, a series of events unfold that not only eerily resemble the family annihilation from 30 years ago but also occur on the exact same dates.
