A haunted house that once experienced a massacre now welcomes new owners. Single mother Courtney (Shannyn Sossamon) moves in with her twin sons Dylan (Robert Daniel Sloan) and Zach (Dartanian Sloan) after escaping a failed marriage. Courtney struggles to make ends meet, while Dean appears to be influenced by a mysterious force. He can see his well-dressed but ominous friend Milo, and under Milo's guidance, he watches a gruesome and terrifying videotape. During this time, a former police officer, now a private investigator (James Ransone), moves into the family's home as he continues to uncover the truth behind the haunted house.
