The beautiful girl Masami Takenouchi is hospitalized due to a tumor in her brain. Although her condition is not severe and there is a way to cure it, Masami seems extremely sensitive to death; she is terrified that one day she might fall asleep and never wake up, leading to a deep fear of sleep. The young doctor Yamauchi, who is responsible for Masami, is quite puzzled by this, but his colleague Kuroda seems to face an even greater challenge.
