Since childhood, Fantomas (played by Jean Marais) has loved playing pranks. However, his arch-rival, Inspector Juve (played by Louis de Funès), has always wanted to catch him. To give the latter a taste of his own medicine, Fantomas kidnaps scientist Marcelin. Reporter Fando and his fiancée Elena cover the story. The Roman Scientific Congress is about to take place, and in order to prevent Fantomas from causing trouble, Inspector Juve leads a large-scale manhunt. On the train, Fantomas uses his exceptional disguise skills not only to evade Juve's men but also to mock the inspector. The scientific congress proceeds as scheduled, and reporter Fando believes that Fantomas has come to see Professor Lefevre, as the latter can work with Marcelin to develop a secret weapon. Therefore, Fando disguises himself as Lefevre to lure Fantomas, but they all fall into Fantomas's trap... This film is adapted from the novel by French writers Pierre Souvestre and Marcel Allain, and is the second part of the Fantomas trilogy. It is another masterpiece from comedy master Louis de Funès following "The Great Escape."
