Paul has a stable and well-paying job at a law firm. Every day after work, he returns to his beautifully decorated mansion, greeted by his beautiful wife Sara (Marina Foïs) and two lively and adorable children, making his life seem exemplary. However, over time, Paul gradually discovers that reality is not as perfect as he always thought it was. It turns out that Sara is not faithful to Paul; she has a secret and passionate affair with photographer Gregor (Eric Ruf). After learning all of this, Paul falls into despair and, in his anger, kills Gregor. Time cannot be reversed, and nothing can be undone. Now a murderer, Paul escapes to a small island in Southern Europe, where he hopes to start a completely new life under a different identity.
