Young and beautiful American nurse Amy Nicholas (played by Calista Flockhart) is assigned to work the night shift at an old benevolent hospital on the Isle of Wight, England. Previously, the children at the benevolent hospital were prepared to move to the better-equipped St. James Hospital, but a serious train accident caused St. James to be overcrowded, temporarily halting the relocation plans of the benevolent hospital. Upon her arrival, Amy quickly notices the quiet yet somewhat mysterious little girl Maggie (played by Yasmin Murphy). Through Maggie's words and the strange behavior of the medical staff, Amy faintly senses that the hospital harbors unknown secrets. As night falls, terrifying events indeed unfold... This film won the Best Cinematography and Best Editing awards at the 2006 Barcelona Film Festival; the Best Special Effects award at the 2006 Goya Awards; and the Audience Award, the Special Jury Award, and the Youth Jury Award at the 2006 Gerardmer Film Festival.
