The Yongli Emperor Zhu Youlang of the Ming Dynasty was weak and incompetent,   The Wind from All Directions of the Jianghu   The Wind from All Directions of the Jianghu   After ascending to the throne, he was pursued by the Qing army, and could only flee south with his civil officials and aides, seeking refuge with the Ming general Li Dingguo. At this time, this last emperor of the Ming became the target of pursuit by both the Qing court and various sects of the Jianghu. During his flight, Zhu Youlang abandoned the Ming general Hong Lei, who was injured while protecting him, leading to Hong Lei's death in the chaos. His daughter Hong Sumei vowed to kill Zhu Youlang to avenge her father. The Ming general Zuo Mingyu deceived Wu Sangui’s trusted subordinate, and learned that the bandit Xia Laohu was plotting against Zhu Youlang. He then teamed up with the masked woman Hong Sumei to help the trapped Zhu Youlang escape from the stronghold. Fleeing south, Zhu Youlang was beaten to near death by Xia Laohu's pursuers and the Qing general Hao Mu. Fortunately, he was saved by a kind girl from a foreign tribe, Long Zhu Mu, but the Qing army massacred the tribe and imprisoned Zhu Youlang in a temple. Zuo Mingyu and Hong Sumei broke into the temple at night to rescue the emperor. Amid the chaos of a fierce battle with Xia Laohu and Hao Mu, Hong Sumei intercepted Zhu Youlang in front of the Great Buddha, preparing to avenge her father. Zuo Mingyu came to stop her, and then he battled with the pursuing Xia Laohu and Hao Mu. When the seriously injured Hong Sumei struggled to stab Zhu Youlang, Zuo Mingyu's sword pierced her chest. General Li Dingguo arrived with his troops, and the virtually dethroned Yongli Emperor lamented sorrowfully to the heavens.
