Recently, there has been a series of murders committed by a brutal killer, and the most disgusting part is that the killer cuts out the victims' throats after each murder. FBI agent Will (played by Edward Norton) is in charge of investigating the case. After a detailed investigation, Will analyzes that the killer each time cuts out and consumes the victims' throats; however, no trace of the killer has been found. Will seeks help from the mentally ill criminal psychologist Hannibal (played by Anthony Hopkins), hoping Hannibal can profile the killer's psychology to help solve the case. Unexpectedly, Hannibal has a mental breakdown and attempts to harm Will, ultimately being locked up in a psychiatric prison, leading to the case being left unresolved. Years later, Will encounters another identical murder case. Although a suspect has been identified, to thoroughly analyze this person's criminal psychology in order to bring them to justice, Will has no choice but to seek Hannibal's help once again.
